About Us
Mike has been working full-time in the car business in Clifton for 40 years. He grew up in the car business working part-time for his Dad, Carl Schmidt, at his Used Car lot in Meridian when he was in Junior High. After graduating from college in 1978, he went to work at Carl’s Chevy dealership in Clifton. While there, Mike worked in the parts department, the service department, and the sales department. In 1984 he was approved as Dealer Operator running the New Car and Truck Sales departments after attending the General Motors School of Management in Detroit.
In October of 1986, Mike and his wife Carol opened their own Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep dealership in Clifton and operated it for 20 years until selling the business in 2005.
Since that time, Mike has been engaged in Used Vehicle Sales at his current location on Highway 6 in Clifton, offering a wide range of vehicles for sale at good prices.

The Clifton Whipple Truss Bridge, built in 1884, is pictured at the top of the page. Spanning the Bosque River at Clifton, it provided the link that formed the main travel route between southwest and northeast Bosque County until the construction of Highway 6 in 1941. It remained in use until earlier this year, connecting Clifton and Meridian via the scenic FM 1991 (the old Meridian Highway). A new bridge was constructed next to it which maintains the river crossing from Clifton to the old highway and provides a good view of the beloved Whipple Truss bridge.
Pictured to the right is Dr. Burton Carpenter, circa 1917, with the first Model T in Clifton. Burton was one of four Doctors Carpenter, including his father J.C., who practiced medicine in early Clifton. They had offices downtown at the Carpenter Brothers Drug Store.
